–It must be noted that the Pie Master took the week off to prepare for Easter festivities. Making the pie in his absence is Spawn of Pie Master.

Todays Pie: Moo [yes: moo-pie]
Crust was ‘Sir Not-Appearing-in-this-Film’.
Filling was a variation on black-bottom cupcake, but set to pie proportions. Normally, I like a larger cream cheese-to cake ratio in my black-bottoms… but Spawn of Pie Master nailed the cakey bit so well that it stood on its own merit. In particular was the way in which the outer edge took on a crusty (in a good way) texture and consistency.
The cream cheese was, in my opinion, a perfect degree of sweetness and density, with a nice ratio of chocolate chips.
Of further note was the construction of the pie: cut-away shows distinct layers of top-side cake, cream cheese strata, and foundation cake, allowing for confluent components in every bite.

I declare this a perfect pie.

yay pie
