Books as an Art Form

Many people accumulate books that they will never read, either from a misplaced sense of ambition, or for the mere fact that the book is more decoration than occupation.
I, for one, am pretty sure that I’ll never get through the Complete Works of Shakespeare that I’ve got holding down the far corner of my bookshelf.

Artist Kylie Stillman has found an inspired outlet for such tomes… those that will never be read, and more appropriately, the decorative examples.  She carves designs into the pages.

I suppose it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme… but I find my self hoping that the content of the volume mirrors the subject milled into it; you know, like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn… or The Raven
