“Similar to Bumper Cars…”

… in very much the same way that ‘tag’ is similar to the UFC.

Hammacher Schlemmer, that repository for all things shiny and impractical, is now selling class-action lawsuits in the form of motorized fighters that– and here’s the fun bit– the combatants sit in while operating.

The Bionic Bopper Car

“These are the motorized boxers controlled by two drivers who battle to deliver chin-lifting uppercuts for victory. Similar to bumper cars, a driver up to 300 lbs. sits inside the robot’s protective steel cage cockpit and uses a thumb-triggered button on two independent joysticks to activate two pneumatic-powered, tire-tread-fisted arms, which throw upward punches at an opposing robot’s head.”

Sturdy and powerful enough to accommodate an operator that weighs up to 300lbs.
What could possibly go wrong?
It is of interest that there is a recommended age for use. The age at which the folks at H&S feel a person is able to operate one of these mechanized beasties? “Ages 8 and up.”
Available for a scant $17,000. Order by 12/1 for Christmas mayhem.
Naturally, I require a pair of these motorized pugilists.

I don’t suppose they can be multi taskers so they can be justified. You know how we can’t abid by single use tools. Perhaps for hanging the delicate clothing to dry. Now that’s a drawing. Get in and go for a spin cycle.
    And …
Don’t the manufactures need to be concerned that this would be used on another person when they sell just one?
