For All Those Video Games That Pissed You Off…

It’s time for payback. This is a functional urinal composed of SNES cartridges. Sort of appropriate that the blocky constructions gives it a 16 bit quality in appearance. found via Geekologie

The Sorrowful Putto of Prague

My new favorite comic, this week. The art is cool, the stories are neat, and it’s damned funny. Reminds me just a little bit of Frenchy the Clown from National Lampoon Magazine’s heyday.

[Update] The results are in. Lucy came in 33 in her age/gender group and  3618 overall (out of 8723), with a time of 36:59.45.  Yay Lucy! I placed 32 in my age/gender group, and 413 overall, with a time of 25:37.6.  meh I’ll do better next time. The fellow who took overall best time?  17:16.25.  […]

Todays Pie: apple Crust was a little more on the ‘doughy’ side than I prefer, but still a fine crust.  It was extraordinarily flaky… just not all that crisp.  It did have a lovely color, however. The filling was composed of Wolf River apples, which survived the baking process quite well (read: not mushy), and […]

Mmmmm… Bacon!

Lucy sold her truck to a guy that runs a ‘bacon blog’. I think he would be very interested in this product. Fifty Licks, in Portland OR, has created a product that is both insane and ingenious: bacon-maple ice cream (extra crispy). Not available at scoop-shops, the product is marketed through cafes and grocery stores, […]

But, you know… in a good way. Jeffery Thomas is a character designer (I’m guessing for Marvel, but not at all sure… ), and he came up with some very nice interpretations of the Disney Princesses. This is, in my opinion, the most interesting… But they are all very well done.

Camelbak Alpine Explorer review

I’ve carried, to this date, three hydration bladders during my bicycling history.  The first was a Camelbak H.A.W.G. that I received as a gift in ’98.  I’d used that until 2010, when I felt it had earned retirement, and I’d earned an upgrade. As such, I’d invested in an Osprey Raptor 14.  I was pretty […]

My.  God. by Rahzzah I would not just watch this film… I would have it digitally imprinted onto my cerebral cortex. found via Super Punch

Or, as a friend of mine put, “a film by Walt Dali“. It’s pretty neat to see the framework of the traditional Disney fairytale as seen through Dali’s (admittedly restrained) vision. Obvious references to Fantasia are sown throughout the work, and what seems to me like a riff on Peter Pan’s shadow (this film preceded […]
